Commentary

Although toa is a widely used ideophone, it doesn't occur with high frequency. This example emerged from an elicitation session on the past conditional construction at the Andes-Amazon Field School. in June, 2022. Thanks to Austin Howard for noticing and isolating the clip for video 1.
